A celebration of the new novel by Joanna O’Donoghue. Join us upstairs at The Unthank Arms, 149 Newmarket Street, Norwich, NR2 2DS. Jo will be interviewed about her book and will read excerpts, followed by a chance to purchase a signed copy of her book.

A Word From Me

I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease in my mid-twenties. Despite this setback, I went on to raise a family and work full time. In recent years, I’ve travelled extensively and documented my journeys in journals. I also have a passion for helping children and young people with neurodivergence.

My career in education began as an English teacher. I currently work as a counsellor and in different roles supporting adults and young people with mental health needs.

In 2022, I published Lockdown Stories: Reflections on the Pandemic from around the world. In May 2025, Gutsy Travels. Travelling the World with my Invisible Friend was published. It is also now available as an audiobook. ‘When Love Slips Away’ is out on October 28^th and is available for preorder.

About Me

A Passion For Travel

I live and work in Norfolk in the UK. I am a former teacher and currently work as a self-employed education consultant and counsellor.

My passions include travelling and reading, and I had always dreamed of writing a book. A compilation of other people’s work and an introductory chapter was the first stage of this journey. This was Lockdown Stories. The next book, Gutsy Travels, documenting travels around the world with the additional challenge of Crohn’s Disease, was published in 2025.
