A Word From The Author
Jo lives and works in Norfolk in the UK. She is a former teacher and currently works as a self-employed education consultant and counsellor.
Her passions include travelling and reading and she has always dreamed of writing a book. A compilation of other people’s work and an introductory chapter is the first stage of this journey

Gutsy Travels
Newsflash! I have signed a contract with The Book Guild Publishing. Gutsy Travels, Travelling the world with my invisible friend is due to be published on May 2025.
Extract from Editorial Report at The Book Guild Publishing.
“Gutsy Travels is a wonderfully inspiring memoir that follows Joanna on her travels around the world with Crohn’s Disease. It is very unique and insightful, and I think it would make a perfect addition to our 2025 title catalogue.”

Of her inspiration to write the book, she explained: “Initially, for my grandchildren. I woke up one night and knew I should write down my experiences for them to read because I wouldn’t have remembered.
“I love to travel a lot but I had to isolate for three months and reflect on life.”
After collating her experiences, Jo decided she wanted to include other lockdown stories from those she had met previously from travelling.
She continued: “Every time I read the book, I cry.
“It’s changed my view on mortality. Our lives are fragile, and I’ve become grateful for mine.”

We have a number of overseas authors including Joanna O’Donoghue who lives in the UK and is trying to retire. Her first book was a look around the world at the impact of covid and we are hoping that when she retires, she’ll have some time to write more books.
We love working with Jo
All the ‘stories’ are so diverse and many are very emotional. But all the stories show the determination of the writers not to give up. They also show how prepared we all were to ‘follow the rules’. A real treasure to snuggle down to!

This book is a collection of various people’s reactions to the Coronavirus outbreak during 2020/2021. It reflects the shock, the tragedies and difficulties that were experienced but also the ways in which people coped, their positivity and resilience.

Joanna along with her contributors takes us on a journey how different individual coped during the COVID pandemic.
This is a powerful collection of writings from around the world, written by those who survived COVID-19 but whose lives were touched by it in ways that are irreversible.
